With many years of holidays and weekends away staying in B&B's and Guest Houses from Land's End to John O'Groats (and across Europe too), after over two years' searching for the ideal "place of our own" we took the plunge and bought Penarth in September 2017.

Our aim is to provide you with the same levels of service we've often enjoyed ourselves - namely a warm welcome, a clean, comfortable room, and a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day!

We're pleased to say that a number of our guests have kindly left us very positive reviews here and on travel and booking sites such as TripAdvisor, Expedia and Booking.com - whilst some choosing to extend their stays with us and others making return bookings would suggest that we're doing things right!

Only 11 months into our venture, we received a ringing endorsement from a guest who, we discovered, had run her own B&B for over 20 years - her comment in our Guest Book simply states " A lovely stay, perfect in every way"....

At the end of our first year, we were immensely proud to receive the HotelsCombined 'Recognition of Excellence' for 2018, based on opinions that our guests posted on a variety of websites, forums and social media, placing us in the top 3% of accommodation worldwide for Customer Satisfaction - and we were equally proud to have received the same award at the start of 2020, along with a Booking.com 2020 'Traveller Review Award' also!

The 2020 season was 'delayed' when the UK went into 'lockdown' in late March; in July, we were in no rush to re-open, preferring to wait for a few weeks beyond the date that we could have opened up - but were very pleased to discover that one of our first guests was a young NHS doctor, who remarked that it was nice that things felt "nearly normal", and whose guestbook comment includes "really felt at home"!

Whilst 2021 has, of course, seen another 'late start', we have taken full advantage of the most recent lockdown to refurbish the property, with new carpets throughout, and re-upholstered headboards - along with installation of additional equipment to improve the coverage and strength of our guest wifi!
